Stretch film or stretch wrap is a highly stretchable plastic film that is used in packaging and shipping to stretch wrap around items to keep them in place. The elastic recovery of stretch stretch wrap keeps the items tightly bound. In contrast, shrink stretch wrap is applied loosely around an item and shrinks tightly with heat. It is frequently used to unitize pallet loads but also may be used for bundling smaller items.
With the help of the stretch film's strong winding force and retraction, the goods is compact and fixed into a unit, even in adverse circumstances, the goods is not loose and separated, and there is no sharp edge and viscosity, so as to avoid damage.
The stretch wrap film can be divided into: PE stretch wrap film,LLDPE stretch wrap film, PE cut stretch wrap film and so on.
This kind of packaging is similar to shrink film packaging, the film goes around the tray to wrap the tray completely, and then two heat grabbers heat seal the film at both ends together. This is the earliest use of wrap film, and from this has developed more packaging forms.
This packaging requires that the film width is enough to cover the tray, the shape of the tray is regular, so it is suitable for use, and the film thickness is 17 ~ 35μm
